You Can’t Save Your Way to Wealth

I had the pleasure of attending an event held by The Branch Moms, a community of local moms in the Chicago suburbs. I haven't done a great job of connecting with others in the community, and I was excited to attend. My work schedule was fairly open at the time, and yet, of course, on the day of the event I think, "There’s no way I can attend". But that’s my excuse for every function that isn't work or kids.

I made it work - and I had a great time!

I sat next to Dr. Cathy Subber, who is the owner of The Branch Moms. She shared the story of how the group had been started by Kelli Thompson, a mom who simply wanted to connect with other local moms. When Kelli moved, Cathy took over the group and grew it to over 22,000 members!

The speaker that day was Dr. Anita Knotts, founder of The Lotus Women's Institute. Anita talked about a subject that I don’t hear about often: wealth management for women. Anita shared quite a few valuable tips, the most important being that "you can’t save your way to wealth. You have to invest." There was something about the sincerity of her words, followed by her own story, that left an impact. If you are reading this newsletter, and you don't invest because of a lack of understanding, join Anita's weekly email where she will share how you can set yourself up for financial success.

Thanks Cathy ad Anita for such an inspiring session!

Good Quote

Words can be twisted into any shape. Promises can be made to lull the heart and seduce the soul. In the final analysis, words mean nothing. They are labels we give things in an effort to wrap our puny little brains around their underlying natures, when ninety-nine percent of the time the totality of the reality is an entirely different beast. The wisest man is the silent one. Examine his actions. Judge him by them.

I read David's audio book last year. David is truly authentic and inspirational in his writing. The amount of pure determination in his book will motivate you to achieve your goals. If you watch any of David’s videos online, you’ll find that David's advice is most often direct and objective. However, in this video, David gets personal as he accepts an award and reflects on his past life experiences.
