Flowers
I attended a webinar last week on the topic of best technologies to use during meetings to keep everyone engaged. During the small talk part of the call, 0ne of the attendees shared he gets fresh flowers for his wife every other week. He talked about how she feels that flowers brighten their home. I pondered his words. I like flowers as well, but hadn’t considered buying fresh flowers for my house. So, I bought fresh flowers. And it certainly brightened the kitchen.
It is estimated that we spend up to 90% of our time indoors. Due to increased remote work, most of that time is spent at home. I did a bit of research into why plants and flowers brighten a room, and there are studies that show the positive impact.
If you are looking for a quick pick-me-up for your house, buy some flowers or plants to brighten up your rooms. Do you agree? Reply to this email and let me know if you feel the same way.

It’s better to be alone than to spend time with toxic people. It’s better to do nothing than to work on something that doesn’t matter. It’s better to rest than to climb the wrong mountain.

Disconnect
If you are feeling a bit down, one of the first things you should do is disconnect from social media and connect with humans in person (in a safe way). The study below shows that using social media increases the likelihood of depressive symptoms. It's easy to understand: if I am feeling down because my haircut didn't turn out as expected, and I log into social media only to see perfect hair styles, how will that make me feel? Not happy.
